Childcare Centre Expansion - Mama Gladys

Shechem Academy, also known as Mama Gladys, is a Nursery School located in Ukunda, Kenya. It is a private academy, created for those children who are in vulnerable situations, acting at the same time as an orphanage.

Currently, there are 14 children living at the centre. The ages of these children range from 3 to 8 years old. They all live in the same room sharing beds, in very poor conditions, both in terms of health and hygiene. They do not have a kitchen, so they have to cook outdoors. In addition, heavy tropical rains cause flooding in the rooms.

In order to meet the center's needs, Cooperating NGO embarks on a project to construct a new home for Mama Gladys and the children.

The initial budget of the project is approximately €20,000, however, it will be adjusted according to the actual cost once it is defined by local professionals.
